Dear Friends,

In a sure sign that Spring is here, street cleaning returns on a regular basis.  The schedule for the entire year is posted on my website.  While there, you can also sign up to receive email alerts reminding you of up-coming street cleaning.  Alerts are sent each Friday for the coming week and the day before street cleaning is scheduled.

A Friday email was not sent last week for this, the first week of cleaning.  The streets scheduled for cleaning this week, Wednesday through Friday (April 1 - 3) are Astor, Banks, Burling, Burton, Dayton, Geneva, Goethe, Halsted, Lake Shore Drive, Mildred, Orchard, Racine, Ritchie Court, Schiller, Scott, Seminary, Sheffield, State, Stockton, Stone and Wilton.  For information on what blocks or sides of these streets are scheduled, please visit my website for the complete listing.

The Armitage Water Main work continues this week with pressure testing and chlorination of the pipe.  The transfer of service to the new main will begin next week - a process that will take two to three weeks.  The contractor will then fill the trench with concrete.  Work is expected to be complete in late April.

The Park West Egg Hunt takes place this Saturday, April 4, 2009 from Noon until 2PM at the Park West Playlot on Wrightwood between Burling and Halsted.  This annual event is sponsored by the Park West Community Association for children 12 years of age and under (with parent).  Children will enjoy the hunt for filled eggs, the Great, Big White Visitor with the Floppy Pink Ears and plenty of food, candy and soft drinks.

The Park West Community Association suggests a donation of $5 per child and $10 per family for members and $15 per family for non-members.  For each child participating in the egg hunt, parents should bring one dozen plastic eggs filled with candy to my office, 735 W Wrightwood no later than Friday, April 3rd.  Friday delivery hours are 9AM - Noon and 2PM - 4PM.  The eggs will be hidden by the team of bunny helpers in preparation of the first wave of tiny egg hunters.  For more information call 773/506-4460.
