New experiences and attractions for families in 2022
As of early 2022, families are already looking for the best things to do with kids in Chicago and the suburbs. Some Chicagoland attractions have plans to offer plenty of family entertainment this year.
From pop-up experiences to new museum exhibits, here are some new things you and the kids can look forward to in 2022.

Frida: Immersive Dream

Disney’s Winnie the Pooh: the new stage musical adaptation
Opening on March 15, 2022
Your friends at the Hundred Acre Wood find a new home at the Mercury Theater. The new children’s show features Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and more of your favorites as adorable puppets.
Indigenous Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories

The Field Museum is currently renovating its Native North American Hall. In Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Story, hear stories directly from Chicago’s Indigenous community, learn about California basketry traditions from generation to generation up close, and more.

The Chicago Theater offers endless options for family fun. But if you’re looking for a musical, Wicked should be at the top of your list. The Broadway sensation shares the story of the witches from the Wizard of Oz.
Large Garden of Morton Arboretum

Morton Arboretum plans to bring more beauty to its attraction with a new garden. The old Hedge Garden will be transformed into a two-acre outdoor garden with various spaces providing a unique experience.

We all scream for ice cream! Opening its next Chicago location, the Museum of Ice Cream features multisensory installations featuring the classic candy.
